About the hierarchy of the goðorð1) Ting. General meeting of more than 80% of the goðorð. Ting has a right to adopt and to challenge any decision. Decisions are taken by majority vote. The following decisions must be carried unanimously: -About the accepting of a new man in the goðorð. -About the exile from the goðorð. -About the reelection of the goði or gyðja. -About changing the charter. -About breaking up of the goðorð. -About challenging the decision of the goði or gyðja 2) Goði. The head and spiritual leader of the goðorð. Goði is elected by Ting for life (can be re-elected in accordance with the unanimous decision of the Ting). Without convene of the Ting, all decisions are made by goði, with regard to the opinion of the goðorð. Any decision of the goði may be challenged by Ting, except for decisions concerning the spiritual part. 3) Seiðkona or gyðja (or any woman working in traditional spiritual practices). Is elected by the Ting for life (can be re-elected in accordance with the unanimous decision of the Ting). The second spiritual leader of the goðorð. Decisions concerning the spiritual part in relation to women members of the goðorð are not to be disputed. Decisions in relation to male members of the goðorð can be challenged only by goði. 4) Member of the goðorð. The member of the goðorð can be any Asatruar of the age 18+ and whose candidacy was unanimously approved by the Ting, and who has passed a ritual of the initiation in goðorð. Any member can convene Ting for one or another issue, vote on the Ting and be elected on the post of goði or gyðja. 5) A friend of the goðorð. A person, how is interested in the activities of the goðorð and willing to take part in it. Before the admission to the activities of the goðorð, the person should attend at least one Thing, which decides about admission whether to admit one by majority vote. The person can belong to any tradition or religion, the main criterion is adequacy and respect for what we do. The friend has a right to participate in majority of the events of the goðorð (goði takes the solution). About the ritualsOur community accepts the Troth Wheel, consisting of 8 basic points. The scheme of the ritual is defineds by the goði. 1) Yule. Winter solstice. Date is chosen within three days, including the solstice. (At least not more than 10) 2) Disablot. Date is chosen in the range from 1 to 15 February. 3) Ostara. Vernal equinox. Spread of dates - 3 days. 4) Walburg. From April 30 to May 1. 5) Midsummer. Summer solstice. Spread of dates - 3 days. 6) Freyfaxi. Date selected in the range 1 to August 15. 7) Harvest Festival. Autumnal equinox. Spread of dates - 3 days. 8) Winter nights. Date is chosen in the range from 15 October to 1 November. The decision about the date of the holiday is taken by Ting. All the rituals are performed by the goði or gyðja. If goði and gyðja are physically unable to perform the ritual, Ting chooses а man, who performs the ritual.
ATTENTION In the “space of a ritual” (the time when the forces begin to strengthen, and appear. It happen on the “force sites” and temples especially during the equinoxes and solstices. It usually starts with the beginning of twilight) any decisions of the BOTH of the spiritual leaders of the goðorð are not discussed and should be implemented. Also, This goes during the ritual itself too. Scheme of the ritual is discussed in advance.
In the “space of a ritual” it is also prohibited to abuse obscene language.
The decision of admission to the ritual is taken by the goði.
About the temples and shrinesAny action on the shrine has its own ritual significance, and therefore should be made consciously. Only members of the godord are allowed to be on the shrine (around the subjects having spiritual value: the altar, the may-pole, post, idol, etc.) without permission of the goði. PROHIBITED: -to perform any acts that shows disrespect to the Gods and Spirits. -to perform any actions without ritual significance (especially smoking, drinking, eating etc.)
